DIY Ghosts

If you don’t like getting messy, this one is definitely not for you…. If you like getting a little down and dirty once in a while, then roll up your sleeves, take all rings off and let’s get going.

This was super easy to make, and the beast part….all materials combined only cost me around $10 from the dollar store!!

Materials needed: Cheesecloth – I used 2 packages, and made 4 ghosts.
School glue – 1 container. This size was perfect to make all 4 (225ml) Balloons – Any colour will do. You will need one per each ghost.
Black felt – One sheet for the eyes

Everything else you can find around the house. You will need 4 various size vases, a bowl and water. Thats it! Super simple and fun to make.

Step one– Blow up your balloons to the size head you want for your ghosts. I blew mine up about half the size of what the balloon could actually hold. Then secure the balloons with some tape to the tops of the vases.

Step two– Mix the glue & water to make your paste. I used a 1:1 ratio of white glue and water. I emptied the bottle of glue into a bowl, then filled up that same container with water. Make sure to mix well to combine the water & glue evenly.

Step three– Submerge your cheesecloth in the mixture and make sure to rig out any remaining before draping it over your vase & balloon combo. *important tip- When draping the cheese cloth over, make sure you like the “feet” of your ghosts. This is what will support them. There needs to be enough material bunched at the bottom to support.

Step four– Wait 24 hours, and then “peel” the cheese cloth away from the vase a pop the balloons. *very important to wait 24 hours to ensure they are fully dry*

Step five – Cut out eyes with your black felt and either glue or tape onto the ghosts.

I love how these turned out. Don’t forget to tag #ouithreegirls in your Instagram photos if you decide to make these, or anything else you see in my DIY’s.
