Antique markets

I’m not too sure where my love for antique markets started. But the love is STRONG!

I cannot even explain how much I enjoy going to them. Possibly my favourite thing to do. Sorry Homesense.

The hunt for that unique item. The thrill of finding something you didn’t even know you needed until that very second. I literally get butterflies in my stomach…It’s a trip. I have never left empty handed. EVER.

Every time I go, there are a few key items I always look for. Vintage globes (post coming soon), old books, and antique furniture. Oh ya, and brass…. anything brass. Lately I’ve been putting my plants into old antiqued brass planters and they look absolutely perfect (possibly another post).

Last Sunday we went to the Aberfoyle antique market and I almost died. SO. MANY. GOOD. THINGS!

If you’ve never been there….. don’t walk, run!

This is hands down my favourite market I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to several across North America. None compare to this gem.

They have a ton of vendors, a cute little food area with a patio, Ice cream stand, live music and a park for kids to play. It’s pretty much perfect.

When I walked in, it was like heaven. I wanted to buy it all. Obviously I couldn’t, so I was on a mission to pick out the best of the best. Everywhere I turned it kept getting better and better. My mind was racing with ideas of where I would put certain things..

Vintage lockers, wooden crates, globes, artwork, furniture etc.

I try and incorporate a little vintage/antique anywhere and everywhere in my house. The old mixed with the new. Something about it…Chefs kiss.

I love that everything has so much character to it. You can tell it was loved by someone for so many years, and now it’s mine to love for years to come.

Heres a few gems I found while looking around… ALL. SO. GOOD!

I highly suggest going to this market if you are ever in the area. And even if you’re not, its well worth the drive. Pinky promise .
